So I think by now people realize I share just about everything except for bodily functions (most of the time) and details about my job so I went with the fun post today...
I carry a huge purse. HUGE. And I didn't for a long time but about 6 years ago when I got serious about my health my purse grew in size.
Right now my purse has 3 big pockets and my myriad of stuff is divided thusly.
Center pocket - wallet, keys, mini flashlight, tons of hair bands and my two small alligator clips, and my business card case my iPhone and, when going to work or Zumba, my iPad. Oh and normally there's a few of those Coke bottle caps in here. Because I totally do the Coke points thing.
Side pocket 1 - The lading place for all my assorted papers. I have my mini coupon holder in here with not just coupons but also extra business cards, free passes for some of my teaching locations, and extra schedules when I have them. I also place any and all receipts that don't get put in my wallet in this pocket so I can add them to my tax receipts later.
Side pocket 2 - My medicine pocket. My pills for the day are in one of those pill sorters in this pocket. I also carry a bottle of xanax for panicked days, a small bottle of aleve, a small bottle of zinc tablets, several packets of Emergen-C, chapstick, aquaphor, anitbiotic ointment and bandaids. (If you read my post about weird things about my health this makes a lot of sense!) This is also where random granola bars and stuff wind up.
It's a LOT of stuff for someone who used to carry a flip fold wallet. BUT I'm glad I have all this stuff with me. I just ordered a new purse and when I get it I will be more organized with my stuff. I try to keep it organized now but ... eh..
While you're out and about on the internet and reading my National Health Blog Posting Month post... go check out some of my friends who are participating as well. You won't be disappointed!!

Good times... Good times.
Friday was the perfect day of me time. I took a vacation day to rest, relax and get my head back on straight.
I started my day off with a full body massage. My first ever. And it was AMAZING. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhmazing. DeeAnn is a fantastic masseuse and she's also just an amazing person. I met her through Zumba at the Y and I'm so glad I did. The massage was a full hour of just pure relaxation. She spent a good amount of time on my back and hamstrings since they've been so sore in the last week or so. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated at the same time. Best hour in a long time.
I followed that up with a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax. It was nice to be so pampered.
The evening was even more awesome. When I was younger I found and fell in love with MST3K. Well, parts of the cast and writing crew have gone on to two different awesome projects. RiffTrax and Cinematic Titanic. Well, last night I got to go with Marshall, Matt and Chip to see the Cinematic Titanic crew LIVE. It was unbelievable! I laughed so hard I cried a few different times. So awesome.
We also got to have dinner at a pretty cool Irish pub called Bull McCabes. I, of course, had to get Shepard's Pie. MmmMmM.
Today we had a kick butt Zumba class to start the day off and I've spent the rest of the day working on Zumba routines and hanging out with Matt. We just finished watching the Winnie the Pooh movie and I feel like a kid again!
We also did a bit of shopping earlier. I bought some more workout clothes and some various food stuffs for tomorrow and the upcoming week. Tomorrow I restart TurboJam and I'm also doing a 24 hour Shakeology fast. I want to try to get the salt and fat from the last week or two out of my system. The steroids got my eating all wonky and I want a day to try to get back on track. So, tomorrow I will have 3 Shakeology shakes, snacks of fruit and veggies and green tea and that's it. I may do a salad for dinner too. Depends on how I feel.
I'm in the process of setting up another 30 day Shakeology challenge to start April 1. So far the March ladies have been seeing amazing results. I can't wait to see their final results at the end of the month!!

Simply awesome
Since Thursday everything has just been flowing beautifully.
Last night I had the honor of joining several Zumba instructors from the Rocky Mount are for their Zumbathon to benefit Operation Purple and Soldiers' Angels. It was a fantastic event and they raised over $700 for the two organizations with donations still coming in from those who couldn't be there.
I got to teach two routines. I did Whenever, Whereever which I choreographed and End of Time which I learned from one of the NC Jammers. It was the first time I'd participated in an event like that as an instructor and I was nervous but the folks seemed to love both routines and I had a great time just dancing with new people and learning from other, more experienced, instructors. I happen to know there are pics of me teaching... when I get them I'll share them if they're not too embarrassing!
After that I got to go out to dinner with Marsh, Matt and one of my Zumba buddies and her husband. It was fabulous! It was great to just sit and chat and share delicious, delicious Mexican food!
THEN! When I got home I had an email that made me squeal like a school girl! I PASSED the Hip Hop Hustle certification - written and practical. I PASSED! I can't tell you how absolutely happy that news made me.
I'm about to order the AFAA study book so I can get my Group X instructor certification next February. Knowing that I passed the HHH course gave me the push to just go for it. My confidence is really starting to build. Each little hurdle makes me want to hop over a bigger one.
This morning I had a great Zumba class at the YMCA and what happened after just made my heart happy. One of the students, an older lady, came up to me and told me how much fun she had. She told me she was just getting back in to working out after having surgery to remove skin cancer from several spots. She said she felt like Zumba was something that would help her get fit and she wouldn't be bored or dread going. She specifically asked what my schedule was and said she hoped to see me in class soon.
It's the moments like that which make me feel fulfilled in my role as a Zumba instructor. I love knowing that people can come in to my class - first time or not - and find the joy in what we're doing. I love that they come in, sweat, laugh and leave with a smile on their face (even if they want to hit me for trying to kill their legs!)
Tonight is my birthday celebration! Katie and I are going to see Paranormal Activity 3 followed by dinner and drinks in Greenville and then dancing at the gay bar. I love The Mining Company! Great atmosphere and grope free dancing? Yes, please!
